“The purpose of life is to live it, to taste experience to the utmost, to reach out eagerly and without fear for new and richer experience ”
— Eleanor Roosevelt
My name is Camilla and I am a visual story-teller. I love being my own boss, and for the past 8 years the camera has been my main creative outlet. I am a country girl at heart and a bit of a garden nerd. After years of living my life "on the road", shooting weddings all over Denmark and the world, dealing with stress and depression, I am now passionate about living my life as slowly and intentionally as possible. And every sense of the word "home" means a great deal to me now. I find my "answers" and peace of mind in nature, both the grand overwhelming landscapes I see on my travels as well as the daily quiet beauty of the sea that surrounds me here on Aeroe island.
As a self-taught photographer, I shoot in a simple, informal, candid way that resonates with people who don't want a traditional or stressful wedding day. Together we create authentic photographs full of intimacy and meaning; photographs that not only document what their wedding day looked like, but what it felt like. I don't particularly love weddings, but I love people, and wedding days are one of the most optimal occassions for observing and documenting human emotion and connection.
When I have people in front of my camera who I connect with, who inspire me, it is like magic. Those moments make me feel like this is what I was meant to do.
Besides documenting weddings, and shooting lifestyle images for small farms, makers and creatives, my other projects include turning our old farmhouse, where I live with my husband and two kids, into a lovely organic B&B, hosting intimate weddings in our garden in collaboration with local wedding planner Danish Island Weddings, and creating workshops and retreats for photographers.
