Celeste and Ben contacted me kind of last minute, but I was so happy we were able to make it work so I could document their elopement on Aeroe island with Danish Island Weddings a few weeks ago. Ben lives in the UK and Celeste in Utah, but they met through Celeste's sister who also lives in England. On their wedding day the couple was so full of anticipation and happiness and put themselves completely in my hands. I love when my couples trust me completely, because when they let go of control like this they can focus completely on the experience and just 'be' together which makes the photos so much more beautiful, genuine and authentic.
So here is their story...
After their civil ceremony at The Old Merchant's Court on the town square, Celeste swapped her silver heels for a more comfortable pair of sneakers and we headed out into the autumn colours around the charming old streets and down by the waterfront.
Even though I only spent a short 1½ hours with Ben and Celeste, I can honestly say, I can't wait to meet them again some day. In my job I am so incredibly lucky to work with so many couples who are kind and open and loving, and who share my love for an adventurous life. Sometimes leading an adventurous life means travelling to the other side of the world to find the person you love, and sometimes it can be as simple as being willing to stray from the beaten path and into a bit of mud or wet grass, to get that beautiful shot that will always remind you of the love you share.
