2016 had lots of laughs, lots of tears, and so much love. I met so many wonderful new people, built new friendships, reconnected with past clients for both anniversary sessions and kids portrait sessions as their families have grown. I travelled to the dark misty alleys of Venice, to the moody mountains of Scotland, and - once again this year - to my home away from home: beautiful Norway, as well as to almost all corners of little Denmark.

Around these parts, autumn and winter can be brutal, even people who come here from some of the - in theory - coldest parts of the world say it feels freezing cold here. That is because of the wind and the humidity. I feel the weather slowly changing now. "Real" autumn and many cold long dark months are ahead of us. And although I embrace that season with all of its charms, the fireplace going, warm wooly socks, tea, long windy walks along the coast, red cheeks, sitting burried in books and planning out my kitchen garden for spring, maybe a bit of snow if we are lucky, I always feel like these last quiet early autumn days are particularly precious and this year we have even had many more than usual. So to make the most of what may have been the last of these spectaular evenings, two nights ago I convinced a friend of mine, who shares my love of the sea, to let me create a series of portraits of her at sunset.
